An international law enforcement effort over the past two years has managed to uncover a child porn network that has resulted in the arrests of 43 men, reveals the Associated Press. The first lead in the case came with a stuffed toy bunny seen in a photo that depicted an 18-month-old boy. That led authorities to one man in Amsterdam whose computer allowed investigators to uncover a network of men who not only trade explicit photos of attacks on babies and boys, they also chatted about “abducting, cooking and eating youngsters.” The investigation, code-named Holitna, continues expanding.

Officials, who have so far identified 140 victims ranging in age from 19 days to 4 years, are trying to figure out whether there was actual cannibalism and murder involved or whether the men were sharing horrifically twisted fantasies. The extensive AP story is at times hard to read as it describes material authorities uncovered throughout the investigation, including video of a bound 2-year-old being raped. One of the most shocking details involves a man arrested in Kansas who had apparently taken photos of a naked 2-year-old in a roasting pan inside his oven. The child was later found alive.
