Schwarzenegger Joins USC as a Professor
The former governor and action icon is co-founding a $20-million political think tank at the California school.

That surreal prospect could soon be reality for some civic-minded students at the University of Southern California. The Washington Post explains that the bodybuilder turned action icon turned unlikely governor of California will co-found a think tank, the USC Schwarzenegger Institute for State and Global Policy, and join the university as a professor. The Post says the think tank will focus on moving past partisanship in several core areas, including education policy and the environment.
Schwarzenegger put up $20 million in personal and fundraising cash to kick off the think tank, which will launch with an event on Sept. 24 in Los Angeles. Starry-eyed undergrads and others will get their first lecture from Prof. Schwarzenegger in December, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Meanwhile, those who still cherish Schwarzenegger mainly as a trash-talking android and otherwise indestructible action hero needn’t worry: He is also wading back into Hollywood roles, including a large cameo in this month’s romp The Expendables 2.
