Reporter Interrupts Obama During Rose Garden Speech

President Obama made major news Friday, announcing a substantial shift in federal immigration policy that could affect hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants who came to the country while they were children.

At the same time, and at the same place, a conservative journalist covering the Rose Garden press conference made some news of his own, interrupting the president to aggressively question the new policy. "Why do you favor foreigners over American workers?" Neil Munro, a reporter at Tucker Carlson’s Daily Caller shouted several minutes into the president’s remarks.

"Excuse me, sir," Obama responded angrily. "It’s not time for questions." The president later answered Munro, who continued to shout questions, telling him that the new policy was the "right thing to do for the American people."

After the press conference, and while the Beltway Twitter-sphere was aflutter over the testy exchange, Carlson defended his reporter, saying that Munro was just doing his job. "This is what reporters are supposed to do," Carlson told the Huffington Post. "They're supposed to get their questions answered."
