The twists and turns in the George Zimmerman case have mostly slowed to a trickle now that the 28-year-old neighborhood watch volunteer is awaiting trial on a second-degree murder charge.

But the Miami Herald did a little online digging and came up with the latest brush stroke in what has become an increasingly complex digital portrait of the man who shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in what he says was self-defense. The big find: A Myspace profile that Zimmerman created more than seven years ago.

The page, titled "only to be king again," includes a handful of photos and other info, but the part that is garnering the most attention is Zimmerman's "About Me" section, which includes this:

I dont miss driving around scared to hit mexicans walkin on the side of the street, soft ass wanna be thugs messin with peoples cars when they aint around (what are you provin, that you can dent a car when no ones watchin) dont make you a man in my book. Workin 96 hours to get a decent pay check, gettin knifes pulled on you by every mexican you run into!

The Herald provides a quick summary of the rest of page, which Zimmerman's lawyer confirmed belongs to his client:

The pictures posted on the page including several with an ethnically diverse group of friends. The blog section boasts about having two felonies knocked down to misdemeanors and describes a court battle with an ex-girlfriend. Zimmerman faced two felonies in 2005 for obstructing justice and battery on a law enforcement officer, but the cases were reduced to misdemeanor simple battery, and he was left with no criminal conviction on his record.

You can read more on the Myspace page over at the Herald, which also has a good look at the outsized role that social media and the Internet have played in the Zimmerman case to date.
