Rick Santorum canceled campaign appearances in Florida Sunday after his daughter Isabella was admitted to a hospital in Philadelphia Saturday night. The 3-year-old, commonly known as Bella, suffers from Trisomy 18, a rare genetic condition. The former senator has frequently talked how she wasn’t expected to live past her first birthday.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar of the TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting will stump for the former senator at events in Sarasota and Punta Gorda, along with their five oldest children. Santorum’s 20-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, will also be helping out at the events while her father remains at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, reports USA Today. The Duggars had helped Santorum campaign in Iowa, emphasizing his pro-life credentials as a big reason for their support.

“Rick intends to return to Florida and resume the campaign schedule as soon as is possible,” his spokesman said in a statement.
