The hotel maid accusing Dominique Strauss-Kahn of sexual assault and attempted rape filed a civil lawsuit Monday seeking unspecified monetary damages.

Lawyers for the woman, Nafissatou Diallo, had previously indicated that a suit would be forthcoming. In the complaint, Diallo accuses the former IMF chief of a "violent and sadistic attack” and repeats the version of events she has told since she revealed her identity in media interviews roughly two weeks ago, Reuters reports.

"Believing he was immune from the laws of this country, defendant Strauss-Kahn intentionally, brutally and violently sexually assaulted Ms. Diallo and in the process humiliated, degraded, violated and robbed Ms. Diallo of her dignity as a woman," according to the complaint.

Strauss-Kahn, 62, has denied the allegations and his lawyers have said that any sexual encounter was consensual. His next criminal court date is August 23.
