Rick Perry’s Wife Wants Him To Run
“Sometimes you’re called to step into the fray.”

Still no official word out of Rick Perry’s camp, but speculation is continuing to mount that the Texas governor is going to jump into the race for the White House.
Perry fed that speculation when he told local reporters that his wife, Anita, is not only onboard with a 2012 run but that she is pushing him to launch a campaign.
“My wife was talking to me and saying: ‘Listen … get out of your comfort zone. Yeah, being governor of Texas is a great job, but sometimes you’re called to step into the fray,” the Republican governor told reporters yesterday, Houston TV news station KHOU reports.
(Just in case conservatives missed the news, the Drudge Report is currently trumpeting it with an above-the-fold, all-caps RICK PERRY'S WIFE: RUN headline.)
Anita Perry’s support is particularly big news because it comes during a nomination season when a number of potential GOP candidates have stayed on the sidelines, at least in part, because their families weren’t onboard. (See: Daniels, Mitch.)
If Perry does enter the race, he'd immediately join the ranks of the Republican front-runners and is considered to have a solid chance to post a strong showing in Iowa's first-in-the-nation caucuses.
