UPDATE: The culprit appears to be Jonathan May-Bowles, a comedian who goes by the name "Johnnie Marbles." May-Bowles posted this just before the attack: "It is a far better thing that I do now than I have ever done before #splat".

Original Post: Just in case this wasn't already a media circus, it certainly is now.

Rupert Murdoch was accosted Tuesday afternoon while testifying before British lawmakers.

Cameras didn't capture everything, but it appears as though a man carrying a plate of shaving cream approached the table where Murdoch and his son, James, were sitting. But before he could reach Murdoch, both James and Murdoch's wife, Wendi, jumped to his defense.

Police then took the man into custody.

The hearing was briefly suspended following the incident, but resumed roughly 10 minutes later.

Here's a pic of the attempted attack.
