Fellatio Is Common Among Fruit Bats

A new study revealed that more than two-thirds of female short-nosed fruit bats performed fellatio on their sexual partners. The result? Those that practiced fellatio ended up having longer-lasting sex. On average, a second of fellatio gave six seconds more intercourse. Ultimately, the deed lasted four minutes for those who practiced fellatio, twice as long as for "non-fellating females." It's not clear exactly why females would want sex to last longer, but researchers say it could be a sign that oral sex is more common in the animal kingdom than was thought.
