4. No Baby Geniuses Here: Disney Offers Refunds on Einstein Videos
If hours of watching Baby Einstein failed to turn your toddler into a genius, don't worry, you can get your money back. Disney, which produes the popular line of videos and DVDs, has announced that parents who are "not satisfied" with the allegedly educational videos can return Baby Einstein products purchased as early 2004 for a $15.99-per-video refund (limit four). The unusual move from Disney comes under the threat of a class-action lawsuit from parents who say they were conned into buying Baby Einstein because the products purported to be good for babies' development. (This despite doctors' recommendations that kids under 2 not get any "screen time" at all.) A 2003 study found that one-third of American kids between the ages of 6 months and 2 years had watched a Baby Einstein video at some point in their young lives.
