4.  Was VMA Clash All Planned?

These days, you can never be too skeptical. The most talked-about moment of last night's video music awards was when Kanye West snatched the microphone away from 19-year-old Taylor Swift after she won best female video and was giving her thanks. "Taylor, I'm really happy for you, and I'm gonna let you finish," West said, before going on to say that Beyoncé, who was also in the running, "had one of the best videos of all time." Both Beyoncé and Swfit looked shocked. (Watch here.) West walked off stage, and Swift wasn't able to finish her speech. Later in the evening, when Beyoncé won best video of the year, she called Swift up onstage and allowed her to finish her speech. West later apologized. Considering how much MTV works to build buzz at these types of shows, could the whole thing have been staged? After all, it's guaranteed to be played over and over again, and both Swift and Beyoncé came out looking wonderful. The whole episode turned attention away from the person who was supposed to be the night's focus: Michael Jackson. Madonna made a moving surprise appearance, and Janet Jackson gave an impressive performance of "Scream," her duet with Michael. The LAT highlights the night's best and worst moments.
